A letter from the New Volleyball Coach

Please let me introduce myself; My name is Daphne Grice. I was born and raised in the Metro-Atlanta area where I attended and graduated from Covenant Christian Academy. To further my education, my journey began playing basketball at a small christian college in Kentucky and eventually led me to Georgia Sourthern University. As a graduate of GSU's sport Management program I was able to transform my passion for sports into a career. I relocated post-graduation to the Jacksonville area in 2006 to work in corporate sport. As my time with the company came to an end, the Lord opened this door of great adventure at Seacoast Christian Academy. I am so blessed to have been offered this opportuniity to join SCA athletics. I look forward to the realtionships and memories we can build together while shaping a team into a group of successful young ladies both on and off the volleyballl court.

Volleyball conditioning workout dates and times

Coach Grice has made the dates and times for volleyball conditioning.

Monday 7-26 - - - - 1 to 3

Thursday 7-28 - - - 10 to 12

Monday 8-2 - - - 1 to 3

The season will beging with mandatory tryouts and practices on August 9th. Times will be bloged and sent home by Monday 7-26.

Hello SCA Volleyball parents and Players!

I am so excited about the coming season and the opportunity to work with SCA Athletes.

Here is the tentative practice schedule for the 1^st 4 weeks of the season:

Monday 8-2-10 1-3 Conditioning Both Teams

Monday 8-9-10 1-4 Tryouts Both Teams

Tues 8-10-10 1-3:30 Middle school 3-5:30 Varsity

Wed 8-11-10 1-3:30 Middle school 3-5:30 Varsity

Thurs 8-12-10 1-3:30 Middle school 3-5:30 Varsity

Fri 8-13-10 10-12:30 Middle school 12-2:30 Varsity

Monday 8-16-10 10-12:30 Middle school 12-2:30 Varsity

A full Schedule will be sent home at Tryouts. *Be aware that dates and times may change; I will make sure to give everyone as much notice as possible*

All practices and games are mandatory! There are no excuses for missing. Birthdays, family reunions, hair or Dr. Appointments are all not excuses for missing practices or games. It will take all the athletes to commit to the program, for the season to be a success.

Post-season play begins on 10-11-10 for Middle school team and 10-18-10 for Varsity team. The practice schedule for those weeks will be posted pending game times for the season ending tournaments.

Varsity volleyball team lose first match

The varsity volleyball team lost their first match of the season to Westwood Hills at home tonight. The girls just had to many service errors but played hard. The team was led by Junior Hannah Anderson and Sophmore Leanna Boyer. Both girls played most the match and Boyer had 6 kills. The girls will try to even up thier record (0-1) tomorrow when they travel to play Beaches Chapel.
